In Character Information
character name: Kurogane
Fandom: Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles
Timeline: immediately after receiving a replacement mechanical arm and recovering from the loss of his own in order to rescue Fai from Celes Country, chapter 169
character's age: probably mid to late twenties
powers, skills, pets and equipment: Kurogane is a very skilled fighter, having a very high level of swordsmanship. He is very strong physically, agile and powerful. Probably moreso than the average human would be able to be, so we'll say he has almost superhuman strength. His swordfighting techniques could be considered magical for all the power they have.
He is perceptive and very observant, and this serves him well in battle and in everyday life.
His equipment is generally his sword and armor, although he can make do without both. At this point in canon he is also sporting a mechanical arm.
canon history: The wikia can do this section more justice than I can, so: http://tsubasa.wikia.com/wiki/Kurogane
personality: Kurogane is a warrior, first and foremost. This makes him seem very serious and stoic, and he is not prone to displays of intense emotion, unless that emotion is anger. He is short tempered and easy to annoy, especially when being teased and called nicknames by Fai and Mokona.
However, he is extremely intelligent and perceptive, as well as protective and loyal. Kurogane very easily picked up on the fact that Fai was hiding things, and continually urges him to live in the present. This shows that he is compassionate and that he bases his opinions of people not on their past mistakes but on how they choose to be in the present. This may be influenced by Kurogane's own period of insanity in his past and his struggle to overcome it.
Kurogane is very protective of those he cares about. He took Syaoran under his wing and taught him to fight, becoming a sort of father figure to the boy and to Sakura as well. He does not blame the real Syaoran for the actions of his clone, nor does he blame him for wearing the crest of the one who killed his mother, as Syaoran was captured and this was not his doing.
Throughout the series Kurogane has become increasingly closer to those he travels with. He states that he does not in any way regret giving up his arm to get Fai out of Celes, although in the beginning of the series this would have been unheard of. Kurogane has also mellowed quite a bit and has come to realize that not everything can or should be overcome by physical strength.
why do you feel this character would be appropriate to the setting? Kurogane was born into a world where fighting demons was commonplace, so supernatural elements won't be strange to him at all. He has had extensive training as a warrior and throughout the series he has shown himself being able to adapt to a variety of situations and survive quite well in them.
